Deposit Information
Residential customers are generally required to place a deposit as security for payment of utility bills before utility services will be turned on. Deposits may be waived if the applicant has had comparable service with Mesa in the past two (2) years, was not delinquent in payment more than twice during the past twelve (12) consecutive months or been disconnected for nonpayment during the past twelve (12) months. Deposits may also be waived if Mesa receives a low risk credit rating verification from a credit rating service deemed acceptable by Mesa.  Deposits do not accrue interest.
 
If you are a new customer with the City of Mesa, we may be able to waive your deposit by checking with Equifax credit reporting agency to determine if a deposit is necessary.  If you do not agree to this, we will not be able to process your request online and you will need to visit one of our office locations or contact the Customer Service Call Center at 480-644-2221.  Do you consent to having a credit report pulled?
