The Damage Prevention and Traffic Safety training course is designed for any person performing excavation, boring, blasting, tunneling, backfilling, and/or temporary traffic control activities within any one of the City of Mesa’s utility service areas.

This class is recommended for construction operators (anyone planning to dig), foremen and/or field superintendents, subcontractors, and project managers. Information discussed in this class includes:

  • Overview of the City of Mesa Utility infrastructure;
  • City of Mesa requirements;
  • The Arizona Underground Facilities Law;
  • How to dig safely when working around underground utilities;
  • Reporting utility damages; and
  • Basic traffic control operations.

For those attending the class as part of the Capital Improvement Project contractual agreement, this will fulfill the requirement and is good for 12 months, which includes any future projects with the City during that period.

Please Note:  Multiple companies may register for this class, however, if we do not have a minimum of 5 people registered, the class will be rescheduled.
